One cricketer is certainly living the high life freelance style after a troubled past.
Australian all rounder, Andrew Symonds, was the only cricketer to be signed by state team Queensland in a contract specifically designed for his role in the Twenty20 format.
Symonds was dumped by Cricket Australia from a central contract following what they felt was a recurrence of a drinking problem although Symonds begged to defer. Symonds was sent home from the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 even before the tournament started.
Since then Symonds has played for the Deccan Chargers in the Indian Premier League and has played for the Queensland Bulls on a match by match basis. Now he has a contract which perhaps suits him better.
