The Air India Red and Air India Blue have made it to the semi finals of the BCCI Corporate Trophy in India, this despite rain and an unfortunate demise.
Matches in the BCCI Corporate Trophy have been a troublesome affair, either because rain played havoc or matches had to be cancelled due the untimely death of the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajashekhar Reddy, in a helicopter crash.
Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) suffered the most as they did not even get to play in the two matches for qualification to the final four.
However, Suresh Raina powered Air India Red while Mahendra Singh Dhoni did the same for Air India Blue. The latter will now face the Tata Sports Club while the former will match up against Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
The matches would have provided some of the Indian cricketers an opportunity to warm up before the upcoming ODI tri series in Sri Lanka which also features New Zealand.
