Check out Australia’s New Twenty20 Uniform – From Green and Gold to Black

The Australian team arrived in South Africa for a full tour that begins with the Twenty20 series. Interestingly they also have a new outfit for the Twenty20 format.

The New Zealand cricket team could well complain that their Trans Tasmanian rivals were emulating them in the matter of colour as judging by the new colours unveiled as part of the Australian cricket uniform, the Australian cricketers appear to be sporting shades of black mixed with some pale yellow. The new Australian Twenty20 uniform certainly goes against the grain of traditon where Australia have predominantly sported the colour yellow – which according to some astrologers has proved lucky for them – and branded it green and gold as their ODI uniform developed a darker shade of green with traces of yellow.

Now it appears Australia are opting for a brand new colour altogether and though the Black Caps would claim right to the colour, it appears perhaps Australia think a change of colour may change their fortunes. Their outfit for one day cricket is likely to remain more traditional although it is in the Twenty20 format that the Australians could be mistaken for thinking that they had developed a taste for New Zealand’s favourite colours.
