Another Indian Twenty20/IPL team went down in the Champions League Twenty20, but in more embarrassing fashion.
The Delhi Daredevils, who saw Virender Sehwag return to international cricket, and led by Gautam Gambhir, suffered to put even ninety-eight runs on board and struggled even more to halt the Victoria Bushrangers towards making points.
Mithun Manhas’s twenty-five runs were the top score and although Sehwag started in blazing fashion, his curtailed twenty-one only highlighted Delhi’s woes.
Shane Harwood and Clint McKay bowled well for two and three wickets respectively as they capped off a good day for the Australian Twenty20 teams with the New South Wales Blues (NSW) beating the Diamond Eagles earlier.
For Victoria, Rob Quiney set things off in winning fashion, making forty quickfire runs in thirty-three balls followed by captain Cameron White’s unbeaten twenty-two as Victoria completed formalities in the seventeenth over.
