A ball has not been bowled yet in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 and the New Zealand captain has already found a reason why Sri Lanka could enjoy more than home advantage during the New Zealand v Sri Lanka ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 semi final at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Daniel Vettori is concerned about the semi final match to be played against Sri Lanka. Those concerns do not stem from his own team because New Zealand are buoyant after defeating South Africa and believe they have the capability to getting past the hosts as well.

Instead Vettori is concerned that the pitch that the match is scheduled to played on has already been used before. Vettori stated at the press conference that he thought every match was being played on a new pitch but that does not seem to be the case.

Vettori expressed shock that New Zealand would be playing Sri Lanka on the same pitch that was used for the Sri Lanka v England ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 quarterfinal in which Sri Lanka comprehensively beat England. Vettori did not think that a pitch that already had wear and tear from a match played recently would be used once more.

But now it would seem New Zealand do not have a choice and if they want to spoil all Asian party at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, they will have to restrategize and fine tune their plans.
