Even as Andrew Strauss, the England captain, hoped for a scandal free Test series against Pakistan, Pakistan are asserting similar hopes for the forthcoming England Pakistan Test series.
The Pakistan team manager, Yawar Saeed, felt that the Pakistan team would not be overawed by past controversies or the smaller home support away from home given that they are playing in England.
Strauss was referring to the previous incidents involving England-Pakistan Test series. The more recent of the controversies was in the 2006 series after the Oval Test was considered forfeited by Pakistan after they failed to leave to the dressing room over ball tampering charges.
