It's time for Kings XI Punjab to taste a dose of their own medicine. If the Chennai Super Kings self destructed, the Mohali team earned pretty much the same reputation on home turf against the Rajasthan Royals.

Even as the KXIP are struggling for want of their Australian recruits, the Rajasthan Royals showed the might of theirs with Michael Lumb, Adam Voges and Shaun Tait all coming to the party together in one match.

It was Lumb who took the assault to the KXIP bowlers, stepping out confidently, peppering the stadium in Mohali with boundaries and getting the Royals off to a self assured start. En route, he picked forty-one runs himself from thirty balls.

He enjoyed good company of Faiz Fazal whose forty-five run innings was another enthusiastic pursuit for the team struggling to break out of the bottom rungs. Yusuf Pathan played his cameo but it was Voges who came up with the vital acceleration. Voges put the match virtually out of the reach of the hosts with his twenty-four ball manic run making for forty-five runs as Royal notched up an impressive 183.

The Kings XI Punjab were faced with a difficult job not one without reach as Manvinder Bisla and Kumar Sangakkara kept the fires burning. Ravi Bopara began well but it was Siddharth Trivedi who did well alongside the likes of Shaun Tait to halt the hosts in their tracks.

From 107 for two in the eleventh over, the Kings XI Punjab lost their way. The Rajasthan Royals stuck to their task, Tait had three wickets to his name, Trivedi chipped in with the two crucial ones of Yuvraj Singh and Mahela Jayawardene and Yusuf Pathan nailed the final two int he coffin as the Royals walked away with a thirty-one run win.
