At the Sea Wind Party for Sachin Tendulkar, Aamir Khan spoke about the first time he ran into the man who completed twenty years in international cricket.

Leading Bollywood actor was apparently at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) when he spotted a short, curly haired boy poking his head into the nets. He then asked Kapil Dev who the lad was and was told he was the young man who was being considered to be picked to be a part of the Indian team.
Aamir Khan added at the Ambani party that had he known that Tendulkar would become "the greatest cricketer of his time around the world", he would have taken his autograph then itself.
Paying tribute, Aamir also added how Tendulkar's profile held him prepare for his role in the movie "Lagaan" not including how Tendulkar reacted during the special screening but also, of picking up how Tendulkar would react at the crease.
