Shahid Afridi referred to the side strain in the tour match against Kent as something he has been dealing with since the Asia Cup 2010 in Sri Lanka. He stated that while painkiller injections took care of it there, he is believed to have told Pakistan media agencies that reports suggests there is a minor rupture and has been advised rest.

But Afridi wants to play the final match against Northamptonshire on Saturday before Pakistan take on Australia in the two Twenty20s.
