Afridi stated that on Pakistan's tour of Australia and New Zealand, some of the Pakistan cricketers were quite content to stay behind on the boundary ropes, ogling at girls, and signing autographs and generally remaining distracted. The comments were revealed as part of the video leak of the Pakistan Cricket Board led inquiry.

However, Afridi states that he wants the issues involving the Pakistan cricketers to be resolved and done with as quickly as possible so the team could move on, because these allegations were damaging the team's image and their efforts towards the World Cup.
