The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is clearly unhappy over Shahid Afridi dragging Pakistan's name into disrepute over the ball tampering row. Shoaib Mallik's decision not to take up Pakistan's Twenty20 captaincy on a permanent basis has put them in a pickle.

Afridi was appointed Pakistan's Twenty20 captain following his sensational performance in the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 in England in June. However, his ball tampering incident when he was seen sinking his teeth into the cricket ball has caused the PCB unwanted embarrassment.
While the PCB has sent summons to Afridi to explain the fiasco, they are clearly miffed with the all rounder, wanting Mallik to lead Pakistan in both the Twenty20 matches against England in Dubai even though Afridi will be available for the second T20I.
Mallik has reportedly even turned down the chance to captain the Pakistan Twenty20 team and the PCB have had to settle for letting Mallik help Afridi pick the 30 probables for the 2010 ICC World Twenty20 scheduled in the Caribbean in less than two months' time.
