Allan Donald Caught in Trans Tasmanian Battle for Bowling Coach for Australia, New Zealand

South Africa are rather quiet on whether they would like Allan Donald as the bowling coach in their ranks. But that has not stopped the rest of the cricket world from trying to woo White Lightning, and now none more so than the Trans Tasmanian rivals.

Allan Donald, the former South African fast bowler also know as White Lightning, has been moving his gear from one country to another as the bowling coach and it would seem that packing bags may once again be in order.

Allan Donald had expressed desire in being the Indian bowling coach, a fact that would delighted Sreesanth immensely, before India closed in ranks on Eric Simons during Gary Kirsten's tenure as the Indian coach. However, Donald has not restricted himself and instead had previously worked with the England cricket team in a similar role.

Donald was last seen as the New Zealand bowling coach, lending his valuable advice and time to the young as well as senior bowlers in the New Zealand ranks, helping them in their expectations during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 in the Indian sub continent.

Now it appears that while New Zealand would like to continue with the services of the former fast bowler, Allan Donald is on the list for Cricket Australia in finalizing Australia's bowling coach. In that light, it would seem the Trans Tasmanian rivalry is now in the board room as each board makes its choice and best offer for the South African to consider.

The only team not really making a beeline for his services is surprisingly South Africa. But perhaps they are content in their own set up to shake up even as South Africa hunt for their next coach to succeed Corrie van Zyl for which even the assistant coach for bowling, Vinnie Barnes, has apparently applied.

It will be interesting if Donald does sign on for Australia as Australia and South Africa have traditionally been equally fierce rivals and it would be something of a stint to have White Lightning in the opposing ranks.
