by Veena Gabriel

No, strangely it was not the hot headed cricketer's fault, at least not this time.

As per the reports coming in Symonds was accused of instigating a fight with a guest at Brisbane hotel. It seems that Andrew had gone there with his team mate Brad Haddin and members of Australian Rugby team at Normanby Hotel in Brisbane.

An argument broke out when a fan wanted his autograph. This altercation was reported in the media as if Andrew was having a drunken sprawl. The fan wanted to hug him ,may be Symonds fended him off.

That is the price you pay for being famous. Poor Symonds, now he is growing hoarse by clarifying that he was not drunk, he did not have any fight with anyone, and that most importantly he was being treated for stress related illness and not, repeat, not for alcohol related problems.

Luckily for him his version is being corroborated by the hotel management. They said it was a non-issue and sportsmen are sometimes put into such situations which are entirely not their doing. He said the whole fault was of the overenthusiastic fan, who continued harassing Symonds till he was shown out by the hotel security. There is no mention of any physical fracas.

This time for once Symonds is not guilty, may be because he was not on the field, trying to intimidate the opposite team.
