One time Zimbabwe's No 1 Cricketer, now the stand in coach for the present tour of the "yet trying to find its own feet" England team is not much inclined to step in the shoes of his senior Peter Moore the coach who was unceremoniously sacked by the England Cricket Board.

Andy Flower is well aware of the aversion which the former captain Kevin Pietersen had developed for the coaches. He knows that if Pietersen had his way he would no longer be there in the England Cricket Team in any capacity.
Andy has also seen the way Peter Moore the former Coach and his friend was shown the way out by the ECB. He also knows that with the change in the management in the top level of ECB with the probability of Lord Marland taking the place of Giles Clarke, Lord Marland had made his displeasure very clear when he accused ECB of systematic failure. If he replaces Clarke there can be appointment of old style manager or team director or head coach, where his name will not be considered.
Andrew Strauss the present captain has made very clear that he would like to have a say in choosing a coach for his team and also spelled out the role of a coach as an advisor or consultant nothing less nothing more.
Andy comes out an individual who hates public displays of the team disagreements. As per him you always support the head coach. You may have differences but you discuss them behind closed doors.
For now Flower is just in Assistant Coach's role. After Caribbean Tour he will decide on his next action, depending on the way how things are going to fare out in this tour. But one thing is sure, if his dream is to become a Head Coach he may have to leave it to Team England to fulfill his dream.
