Ashes T 3 Day 4: Day 3 Washout Sees Sedate Start to Day 4

Even as some fans appear desolate of the distinct possibility of a draw with day three of the Third Test of the Ashes at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

While play on day four was expected to start a half hour early, wet outfield ensured that only one hour's play was possible before lunch.

Predictably England started cautiously. Australia needed to ruffle a few feathers in order to bring the match alive. They did with the key wicket of England's captain, Andrew Strauss, who looked lively himself on day two but could only add five more runs before he was dismissed for sixty-nine by Ben Hilfenhaus.

Hilfenhaus was the only bowler who looked like taking wickets and he struck again before lunch, prizing out Paul Collingwood as England went in to lunch at four for 159, Ian Bell looking good.
