India were the proud and worthy winners of the Asia Cup 2010 after triumphing over Sri Lanka to win the trophy after fifteen years!

The Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium was witness to a historic moment as Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his boys successfully trounced the hosts to win the tournament that despite previous wins had eluded them over the past fifteen years.
After Dinesh Karthik's valuable contribution of the bat, it was the turn of the Indian bowlers to make the batting effort count. Did they respond and how?

Sri Lanka were in dire straits at five down for fifty-one at the end of the sixteenth over which Ashish Nehra, who mised the dress rehearsal, wrecking their best laid plans by dismissing the Sri Lankan captan, Kumar Sangakkara, key batsman, Mahela Jayawardene, and dangerous all rounder, Angelo Matthews. By this time, it was apparent there could only be one winner and it was not Sri Lanka, looking to make a hat trick of Asia Cup winners column.
Thilina Kandamby and Chamara Kapugedera were not ready to throw in the towel yet. So came forth a partnership that was too late but managed to pull back the degree of decimation to a degree. Kapudegera picked up a half century while Kandamby made thirty-three runs before the Indians rammed home the point once more, this time through Zaheer Khan and Ravindra Jadeja, who finished up with two wickets apiece as compared to Nehra's four.
Sri Lanka would be bitterly disappointed with their efforts chasing 269 for victory but for Nehra, who bowled out Sri Lanka for 187 off 44.4 overs, victory did not taste sweeter after bowling perfect line, length and making good use of the bounce. With his incisive pace, Sri Lanka did not stand a chance. From India's perspective, Nehra could not have been more perfect.
