Mohammad Asif looks certain to be named in the Pakistan squad for the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa. Shoaib Akhtar is a different proposition.

Asif was asked to prove his fitness in a training camp for under-23 players in Pakistan and under the watchful eye, Asif appears to have found his rhythm, hunger and reason for perseverance.
Asif will complete his one year ban for returning positive samples in the IPL dope test and will be eligible ot participate in the ICC Champions Trophy next month.
However, Shoaib Akhtar is no winning many votes, if the Pakistan chief selector, Iqbal Qasim, is to be relied upon before the team is announced. Akhtar is not even part of the thirty probables so, his selection would raise a few eyebrows, as would his absence.
