That is right , an apologetic and repentant Pakistani pacer Mohammad Asif broke down in tears when he appeared for a cricket talk show on Geo Super Channel.

Asif had been suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board for failing a dope test during Indian Premier League and he was also arrested in Dubai for possession of small quantity of opium and had spent 19 days in detention.
In 2006 also he tested positive for a banned substance conducted by the PCB but later was cleared on technical grounds after he had appealed against the ban.
He said that he apologises to the nation for his behaviour. He also asserted the fact that he needed to be more responsible and careful(about what - not being caught?) and that the whole world will see a new Asif.
He was being very ignorant in saying that in Dubai he was just carrying some medication prescribed by a local hakim from his village for the elbow injury he had. He had no knowledge about the contents of the medicine, this coming from a world class cricketer is a bit too ignorant, as every one is apprised of the details of the medication they can use and cannot use.
His hearing in the IPL drug case was supposed to take place on 29 the November before the IPL drugs inquiry tribunal but was postponed because of the Mumbai blasts and subsequent terror strikes.
Asif is peeved at the delay it is taking by the tribunal and wants this matter to be over as soon as possible because more the delay means more of his playing years are being wasted.
Asif had been entangled in controversies because of his careless behaviour. But why every time does it have to be a drug related issue? Cricketers are revered in our subcontinent and drug scandals will obviously send out a wrong message which the IPL should consider before giving out its verdict.
