Cameron White's century sealed Pakistan's efforts in the first ODI against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane which did get a taste for Shahid Afridi's mayhem.

Salman Butt may have scored an eighty-one ball seventy-four; Younis Khan may have scored forty-six runs on his comeback; Umar Akmal and Shoaib Mallik may have held the promise for more. But it was Shahid Afridi who stole the show with his late blitz down the order that propelled Pakistan to 274. His forty-eight runs came of just twenty-six balls and they included three huge sixes even as Shane Watson and Clint McKay joined forced to halt Pakistan in their tracks with four and three wickets each.
But for spectacular effort, Ricky Ponting had White to rely on. Even though Australia lost two wickets for thirty-seven runs, it was the 102 run partnership between White and Australian vice captain, Michael Clarke, that held Australia together to seal the five wicket victory. En route, Clarke made fifty-eight runs but it was White with his valuable, well etched out century who helped Australia continue their dominance over the visitors.
