Teen sensation Mohammad Aamer may have missed the SCG Test through a groin injury, but Mohammad Sami and Danesh Kaneria have stepped up and brought Pakistan on the brink of a Test win, not seen in a long time.

Danesh Kaneria only strengthened Pakistan's stand after building up a huge lead by thwarting Australia's second attempts at redemption with a four wicket haul that could have easily been a lot more.
The spinner, who did not play the first Test through injury, struck timely for Pakistan even as Australia tried to resurrect their cause through Shane Watson who suffered another nineties affliction.
Even Michael Hussey standing unbeaten on seventy-three, Australia ended the day on eight down for 286, with a lead of just eighty and Pakistan would be raring to take the final two wickets as early as possible before hammering away at the target for a rare win on Australian turf.
Phil Hughes made a better attempt at holding onto the opener's slot with thirty-seven runs in a 105 run opening partnership but Pakistan soon found the edge as the spinner worked his way into the Australian team, Watson notwithstanding.
Umar Gul though did finally get better of the opener who now has more nineties to his name that he would like and would be glad to get his maiden ton in the previous Test.
Australia do not have a Shane Warne in their midst and Pakistan will fancy their chances of a modest chase, provided they get the final two wickets early.
Two days left but is there enough action to last?
