A member of the Australian fan group "Fanatics" has claimed to have set off the fire alarm in the hotel that the England team was staying in with a bid to helping out the Australian team.
If that is the case, it is taking the concept of a fan too far, much like or perhaps even more bizarre than the role enacted by Robert De Niro in the Hollywood movie "The Fan" where Wesley Snipes plays the stalked baseball player.
There is no telling how much of an impact that nightmare had on the England team but certainly lost the fourth Test of the Ashes in a hurry.
