While everyone from the Australian coach to Australian captain to Australian selection panel have admitted the folly of missing a spinner at Oval, they are clueless to explain this Ashes defeat.

Tim Nielsen, Andrew Hilditch and Ricky Ponting have all admitted to misreading the pitch at the Oval and committing the crime of not including the spinner, Nathan Hauritz.
They did not believe that the dry pitch would crumble to aid spin but the real question was: had there been Shane Warne, would Australia still make the same decision?
Perhaps that question is easier to answer than the plaguing question in the Australian dressing room: how did they lose the Ashes,...again in England?
