In a rare admission, Andrew Hilditch has stated that the absence of Shane Warne has created a spin problem in the country even as Warne himself is on the job to unearth the next confident spinner from Australia.

Nathan Hauritz is showing more reasons why the Australian captain, Ricky Ponting should trust him. But Australia's chief selector admits Australia have a problem and that Warne's retirement did not come at a time when Australia had an answer to fill his big boots.
But Warne is giving back to the sport in the form of playing the role of ambassador for the art of spin and trying to speak to potential talent in the country and give the spinners valuable tips but also, captains because Warne believes that the captains have got the idea of the spinner backwards.
Warne believes captains must see spinners as wicket takers, not containment bowlers who job is only to keep the runs down. He feels that unless that mindset changes, it will be hard for spinners to thrive because captains have little understanding of field positions to set for spinners and it is upon the young spinners to figure out what they need to do in the field.
