The BCCI are stepping closer to not just closing the chapter on the former IPL Chairman and Commissioner but also, ensuring he pays a price what they term is breach of trust.

N. Srinivasan approached the Chennai City Police Commissioner, a day after a threatening SMS was purportedly sent from his mobile number, to register a criminal case against Lalit Modi for defrauding the BCCI and misappropriation of funds to the tune of Rs.470 crores. Five others have also been implicated in the charges.
The Enforcement Directorate ( ED ) has also sought revoking Modi's passport because according to them, Modi is refusing to cooperate with the investigations. His lawyer, Mehmood Abdi, denies the charge even as Modi is in hiding abroad, stating that there is a threat to his life.
