Beware the Gold in Back is the Australian Cricket Team's Uniform for the ICC World Cup '11

The gold was predominantly back in the dressing room kit and almost instantaneously yielded results. Is that why Australia have switched back again for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011?

Australia are bringing all the possible weapons they can manage for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 as they look to do the impossible and win the ICC Cricket World Cup trophy for a fourth time in a row.

While they may have had to leave the likes of Michael Hussey and Nathan Hauritz, one refreshing return to the Australian dressing room has been the traditional gold in their uniforms in the one day cricket arena.

Australia toyed with the idea of making their traditional green and gold into a dominant dark green which seem almost foreboding. However, Australia have landed in India in their famous gold outfits, a colour that has suited them nicely as they won trophy after trophy.

It is unclear whether the decision to revert to the traditional colour came out of a sense of bringing something fresh from the recent past or whether it had something to do with sentiment. Either way, it would appear having gold in their outfit has never hurt their chances. The only thing that will hurt Ricky Ponting and his men would be not making the final again for the fifth successive time ( they lost the ICC Cricket World Cup 1996 to Sri Lanka in the sub continent ) !
