So, why is Sachin Tendulkar celebrating his birthday in such a low key manner? Perhaps Mahendra Singh Dhoni has the answer.
Tendulkar is not known to celebrate extravagantly. But he is particularly keeping low because his focus, as always, is on cricket. And his eyes are eying the IPL 3 trophy, and it is the first time that the Mumbai Indians have reached the final of the Twenty20 tournament. And he wants to make sure all celebrations come after the success, which means his thirty-seventh birthday.
For a thirty-seven year old in a Twenty20 match, there is a contradiction right there. But age means nothing to Tendulkar who scales heights as if there was nothing to it.
The Indian captain is hugely fond of Tendulkar and has only words of praise for him. But Dhoni is also captain of the Chennai Super Kings, the team the MI captain is looking to beat. Dhoni and CSK are in the final for a second time, losing narrowly the first time in IPL 1. Not sure, Dhoni wants to be generous again, even to Tendulkar.
