An investgation by BBChas reported a thick concentration of toxins in the body of Bob Woolmer which points the needle towards him being poisoned first and then strangulated.

With new development such as the CCTV camera catching the two people who came to meet Bob before his death, is a significant development in solving the murder mystery. However, the final results of the report are due to be given to Jamaican police next week.
The murder of Bob sent shock waves around the world of cricket and everyone whether involved with the game or not is eager to know who killed Woolmer and why? To pacify such queries the preliminary toxicology report is a beckon of hope to reach to the killer.
Details of the poison used to subdue Woolmer, are likely to offer a significant lead to finding his murderer, according to an investigation on tonight's Panorama on BBC1. The point that he was strangulated was unacceptable first because everyone questioned how his assailant had managed to overwhelm him when Woolmer was strongly built. This could be easily explained now as the drug would have left him incapacitated.
A broken bone in Woolmer's neck is another key feature in the inquiry. As it is now established that it was as a result of strangulation.

Panorama's Adam Parsons says,
Those tests will show there was a drug in his system that would have incapacitated Mr Woolmer. It now seems certain that as he was being strangled, he'd already been rendered helpless - leaving him unable to fight back. The specific details of that poison are now very likely to offer a significant lead to finding his murderer
Police are trying to trace the movement of people in and out of the hotel where Woolmer was found dead.
Members of the Pakistani team gave statements and submitted DNA samples and fingerprints. Even Irish players have been interrogated.
Speculation still remains on the motive of the murder. Initially it was thought that Woolmer's knowledge about the match fixing scandal might have provoked his killing. While few say that the crime could have been committed by some freakish fan who could not digest the loss at the hands of minnows - Ireland.
His body has been handled back to his family in South Africa after a series of post-mortem. Family sources say the funeral of the late Bob Woolmer wll be a private affair.
Woolmer needs justice. And justice delayed is justice denied so it is hoped that the guilty is found and punished soon.
