Resuming on the overnight innings 65/3, Chris Gayal and former skipper Chanderpaul shared 41 runs partnership for the fourth wicket. Anil Kumble broke the partnership taking the wicket Gayal. Immediately, Chanderpaul took his way towards pavilion when Irfan trapped him leg before. Sehwag who struck amazing 180 runs form 190 balls claimed three lower order batsmen to restrict the Indies at 215 in the first innings.
