Australian batsman, Brad Hodge, has alleged bias within Cricket Australia.

Hodge, who played for the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), was scathing in his criticism of the Australian selection process which he stated had a deliberate Sydney bias for New South Wales cricketers.

Hodge, who has been in and out of the Australian team with no consistency in selection, was disillusioned about the functioning and lashed out about his selection due to being a Victorian player.

But while fellow Victorian, Shane Warne, thrived, Hodge was not lucky to establish a permanent place in the side and it attributes it to the fact that there were too many NSW players who places were perhaps threatened and they stood up for each other instead of letting in a talented player. In his own words, he stated that the opinions of Michael Clarke and Brett Lee would count because they were senior players in the team.

Taking CA policies further, he slammed them for allowing cricketers to take wives and girlfriends (WAGS) along on tours, claiming that it isolated those men without families or significant others, citing the case of Shaun Tait in the West Indies. CA isolating families in lieu of girlfriends, hinting at Johnson's girlfriend-now-fiancee, Jessica Bratich.

This criticism comes on the heels of Mitchell Johnson's mother, Vikki Harber, speaking out about

Meanwhile, NSW batsman, Phil Hughes, whose Ashes ended prematurely with his being dropped, is in India to work with his coach and mentor, Neil D'Costa who is presently with the Vidarbha Cricket Academy (VCA) to help him win his opening place back in the side.

Hughes' selection was highly criticised by former Australian cricketers because he was inexperienced and in Ian Chappell's opinion, Australia failed to take a back up opener.
