New Zealand all rounder, Chris Cairns has confirmed he has instructed his lawyers to take action against Lalit Modi who remains unmoved.

Cairns is suing Lalit Modi, the IPL Chairman and Commissioner, over comments he left on a networking site about the reasons for taking the New Zealand all rounder's name of the IPL 3 auction list.
While the match fixing allegation has remained uncleared by the Indian Cricket League (ICL), Cairns has stated that Modi's remarks have been distressing to him and his family and that it could hurt his future interests associated with the sport.
But Modi has maintained these allegations have been taken seriously by the IPL governing council and that Cairns can sue him for his comments but it will not change the stance of the IPL.
