With no full-time coach, the Indian players are all set of yet another historic and hectic tour to England. The first test match is listed to begin on the 19th of July, at Lord’s. Prior to the test match, the Indians are scheduled to play against Sussex and England A, as a warm up tie.
A daunting tour of England, experiencing English conditions and acquainting fairly well here, is not an easy job.
Dreaming of making a ton at Lord’s and beating the English on their own turf seems to be the zealing spirit of the every new-face present in the Indian side. It takes time to adopt to the English conditions. The more a player plays, the easier it becomes to adjust. The presence of the experienced trio, namely Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly will certainly help the new faces, in some way or the other.
The Indian bowlers also need to learn that short ball bowled in these pitches are all set to be hit and the half-volleys are always punishable even if the ball is swinging.
Team India is going through a period of upheaval at the moment, but the recent series win over the African’s have made them feel some good.
Sehwag, Harbhajan and Kaif, who already have a good exposure to the English tour, have surprisingly been left out.
Faring quiet well, in the first warm-up versus Sussex. Gambhir, Karthik and couple of the middle order batsmen posted a good show, scoring 281-3 at the close of day one.
England’s charismatic all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, having an outstanding cricketing record against India will miss the recent Test-Series, owing to injury. The Indian skipper seems to sense the much wanted success, following Flintoff’s absence.
