Irish cricketer, Kyle McCallan, and the men behind the Duckworth Lewis method to decide rain affected matches shared the momentous occasion with Hollywood actor, Catherine Zeta Jones (married to fellow actor, Michael Douglas seen above in picture with veteran actor-father, Kirk Douglas). McCallan was awarded an MBE ( Member of the Order of the British Empire ).
Receiving the honour were also Frank Duckworth and Tony Lewis, two university statisticians, with their own individual MBE.
They were part of the Queen's Birthday List for 2010.

Incidentally while Queen Elizabeth II is honouring people from the sports field, she herself will not be attending the Commonwealth Games in India which will be attended on her behalf by Prince Charles.
