The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) vice president and former Indian cricketer, Chetan Chauhan, is levelling some really serious allegations against the match referee, Alan Hurst, and the Sri Lankan team.

Chauhan believes that the Sri Lankans "chickened out" knowing that there was little hope for them at eighty-three for five. He says there is no other explanation for how the match at the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium in New Delhi was abandoned two hours into the match.
In his opinion, had the pitch been really unplayable, the match would have been called off within minutes of the match, not after the match had reached half way of one innings.
He also brings Hurst into the picture saying that the referee had explained his helplessness in continuing the match after Sri Lanka refused to do so. Chauhan said he even offered another pitch to be ready in an hour's time which was not acceded to.
Chauhan also adds that Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Indian captain, was not in agreement with Kumar Sangakkara, the Sri Lankan captain.
It appears amongst the face saving measures, the blame games are extending to the visiting team as well.
