Speaking to a news channel, P. Chidambaram, India's Home Minister, was scathing and critical of the IPL.

The Home Minister's words certainly found flavour with the Pakistan cricket circles when he stated that the IPL, through the IPL 3 auctions snub of the Pakistan cricketers, had done cricket "a disservice".
He also repeated the IPL 2 agenda which was security which P. Chidambaram stated that the IPL organizers were too rigid about organizing it at a time when India went for general elections.
Although the reaction was delayed and perhaps too late for Pakistan, that there are sympathizers appears to be causing a problem for the IPL which has been trying, in its own right as a business entity, to ensure business as far as possible without risk.
