Chris Gayle certainly knows how to make his presence felt, if not with the bat then with his personality.

Gayle was at the stadium in Kingston, Jamaica, cheering on the West Indies from beyond the boundary ropes in the fifth India West Indies ODI. In his fancy Afro style hair do, Gayle was as much as the life of the party as some of the regulars at the venue. And his popularity has never been more evident.

There was none of the tension of Gayle, WIPA and WICB meeting that reportedly ended in much acrimony for all parties involved. Instead Gayle carried his trademark grin, and even left the fans more reasons to party besides the fact that the West Indies had actually won the match. Marlon Samuels even did a victory jig after the match, running up to Gayle to join him in the celebrations.

As evident in the image, Gayle seemed to be making a statement not only about his popularity but how much he loves being involved with the game. He was perhaps across making a sterner point about the freedom of being able to watch the match, if not being able to participate himself.

Gayle had tweeted as much about his presence at the stadium, stating he was free to come and go as he pleased and that there was no crime or malice in watching the sport, even though the opportunity to play for West Indies any time soon remains one that will have to continue to the rounds in the boardroom, that is if the parties can see eye to eye instead of a situation of an eye for a tooth.
