Virender Sehwag marked a return to cricket with a match winning knock to beat the Sri Lankan team in the Champions League Twenty20.

The Delhi Daredevils stepped one step closer to the Super Eights by beating Wayamba in their group in the CL T20. It involved the combined effort of seasoned pros including former Delhi captain, Virender Sehwag and Glen McGrath.
Sehwag scored sixty-six runs off just forty-two balls in a knock that proved crucial to Delhi's chances. Dinesh Karthik was as emphatic with a forty-one ball sixty-one although his innings came to the fore only after he translated the guilt of running out Sehwag into a thumping for the opposition.
Delhi's 170 proved too much for the Sri Lankan Twenty20 team by fifty runs as Glen McGrath, in his first outing for Delhi not even featuring in the IPL 2 in South Africa, showed how it is done picking up two wickets for twenty runs in his four overs. Dirk Nannes, whose selection overshadowed McGrath's all of IPL 2, once again validated his selection with four wickets. Apart from Mahela Jayawardene who scored a half century, the Wayamba team never came to terms with the pitch or the opposition and paid a heavy price.
