The Mumbai Indians sputtered in their batting and they were certainly not the favourites for the better part of the match to win the contest against the IPL team, the Royal Challengers Bangalore at Kingsmead, Durban. But they pulled off a sensational two run victory that may have still put him out of the Champions League Twenty20 2010 semi finals in South Africa but have made the road tougher for the RCB.

Barring Shikar Dhawan's forty-one runs at the top of the order, the RCB were in command of the Mumbai Indians innings, that collapsed to two for twenty-two and then to five down for eighty-four when Kieron Pollard, all the RCB bowlers sharing the spoils.
But then came the partnership that brought MI right back into the match. Saurabh Tiwary and Dwayne Bravo knocked the ball around to Anil Kumble's chagrin, scoring at a fair clip to ensure that MI made it to 165. Tiwary was the chief architect, scoring thirty-eight runs from thirty balls while Bravo made a useful twenty-nine off seventeen balls.
But the RCB team foudn the going tough even with the inclusion of Jacques Kallis. Poor shot selections, miscued shots hampered RCB greatly even as Rahul Dravid stuck to his task at the top of the order. Bravo accounted for Robin Uthappa and Ross Taylor and it boiled down to Virat Kohli to get the derailed train back on track from four for 100 with the run rate touching almost eleven an over.
What seemed to be in MI's control suddenly went for a toss as Kohli decided to do it with a flourish. Forty-seven runs from twenty-four balls would then be testimony of the fact as the Mumbai Indians failed to check the run flow. He hit Ahmed for a couple of sixes and then scored three successive fours off Lasith Malinga in the nineteenth over of the match.
Needing thirteen runs from six balls, the RCB seemed on track to victory with Kohli plundering two more sixes, but was dismissed off the final ball, needing three runs, but losing by two runs to be consoled by Dravid stranded on sixty-seven runs from fifty-eight balls.
