The Champions League Twenty20 is proving quite the tussle for players as teams are struggling to find the balance in the team without significantly bringing their bank balance to bottom.

Herschelle Gibbs had earlier stated that he had chosen the Hyderabad Deccan Chargers, the team he represents in the IPL, over the Cape Cobras, the team he represents back home.
Now it appears that the Deccan Chargers have thought better of the bottom line and decided to do without Gibbs in lieu of saving 200,000 dollars which they would have had to pay to compensate the Cobras, who will be led by South African captain, Graeme Smith. Rajasthan Royals though will not have similar problems with the Cobras because the IPL team has not qualified.

Meanwhile New Zealand wicket keeper and Kolkata Knight Riders' captain in the IPL 2 in South Africa has decided to represent his home team, Otago Volts, despite the New South Wales wanting to have him in their side. McCullum was earlier involved in an unwarranted rant by Andrew Symonds for the Australian team taking on a New Zealand cricketer on their team.
How teams such as Delhi Daredevils will cope with the squads and how much of the foreign teams will be at full strength depending on how loose purse strings are in the IPL teams.
In the meantime, Sussex may have to play without Murray Goodwin who was a part of the ICL earlier but had cut his links well before the May 31st deadline.
