Justin Langer was due to retire at the end of the season, leaving the captaincy of Somerset behind. But his team looked to already been on its last legs as they proved to be no match for the high flying New South Wales Blues in the Super Eights of the Champions League Twenty20.
There was literally nothing to write home about for the Somerset Sabres who were virtually out of the semi finals even before their second Super Eights match. A top score of twenty-three from Zander de Bruyn was not going to be enough to stop the NSW Blues whose bowlers, especially Stuart Clark enjoyed a great run with three for fifteen from his four overs.
Chasing 112, NSW got off to a great start with David Warner scoring forty runs from just sixteen balls with others chipping in to make this an embarrassing workout for the England county team with the NSW Blues chasing it down in just 11.5 overs.
