The IPL 3 season will now be available live on the theatre screen. The proposal is to show the Twenty20 matches without commercial interruptions (now that's a catch) at over a 1000 theatres all across India.
While the idea is not to usurp the movies, Bollywood or Hollywood, the reasoning is that the movies could make money from the cricket season when Bollywood is having a dry season in terms of movie releases.
UFO Movies has tied up with the likes of PVR, Inox and Cinemax and hopes to attract theatre goers to watch cricket by having film actors dropping in from time to time to lend their encouragement to the venture.
