They are hardly the royal couple, particularly given their individual reputations. To then compare the sideshow of the IPL to the grand palace wedding seems a tad too much distraction from the main show.

Judging by some of the reporting happening in the present IPL season, one would have though the IPL 4 was about the couples and who's dating whom rather than the main show which happens to be Twenty20 cricket.
But matters took a bizarre turn even as Prince William-Kate Middleton wedding was sealed with a couple of kisses on the balcony of the Buckingham Palace to please the half million or thereabouts crowd that withstood several hours of jostling to be there for the moment.
Meanwhile closer to home, the fairy tale royal wedding was replaced by the congratulatory Liz Hurley-Shane Warne kiss after the latter led his team, the Rajasthan Royals, to a spectacular win over the Mumbai Indians. Although this was not the first time the two were seen smooching on the cricket field, they have become the equivalent of the royal wedding couple, which not only seems stretching it but also, downright ridiculous.
Perhaps the proximity to royalty in the Pink City or the fact that his team in the IPL has the Royals suffix may have had a few people conveniently blurring blue blood with the rest. But it seems that people are desperate to tie stories into the format that has otherwise become tedious and monotonous, and giving people the need to look at something beyond the cricket field to bring in the sensational moments.
Although the IPL 4 is getting increasingly written about for the PDA's - Public Display of Affection and the Indians cricketers' personal lives and their dating scene, nothing could be further from reality although the love between couples may be genuine. But to use Shane Warne as the pin up for true love and romance is a twist in a fairy tale. Call it the royal wedding kiss hangover!
Perhaps even for those with a wild imagination, it would be wiser to stick to the real match on the cricket field!
