Cook Believes Strauss Took Best Decision To Rest

Alastair Cook believes Andrew Strauss is making a sensible decision by deciding to rest instead of touring Bangladesh. Could some of the Indian cricketers have done the same?

The England captain decided to take the advise and rest up instead of going on tour like the rest of the England team will be doing after the two Twenty20 matches against Pakistan in the UAE.

Cook will live out his ambition of handling the job of the England coach on the tour of Bangladesh. But he has stated that Strauss' resting is not as negative as it is made out to be. Cook has apparently decided to enjoy leading the team but also, take advise from Strauss from time to time.

Cook stated that England had a look road ahead and that Strauss did not jump to the decision. But rather Strauss would have well thought out the decision in view of the long road ahead. The ECB has not been opposed to the move given that it is the next Ashes that England are looking at and they do not want a repeat after their 2005 success.

Cook felt that the opportunity to tour Bangladesh would prove beneficial to the England cricketers as it gives them another chance to polish their skills on the Indian sub continent, given that the 2011 ICC World Cup will be staged there.
