That is the question doing the rounds after speculation that the Shah Rukh Khan owned IPL team may be looking to lighten their load off the Prince of Kolkata?

No one is safe in this business and no, it is not about Ricky Ponting's statement during the on going Ashes. Rather it is about Sourav Ganguly who is now in the centre of a rapidly growing discussion as the IPL 4 player retention deadline looms.
Apparently the former Indian captain could find his name in the IPL 4 player auction list because the Kolkata Knight Riders appear to be moving away from Kolkata's favourite cricket son. Ganguly's stay at KKR has been fraught with a great deal of drama over his captaincy, his frosty relationship with the then coach, John Buchanan, and the inability of the KKR team to lift themselves out of the doldrums after three seasons of the IPL.
There are indications that KKR may be looking in new directions. Their only problem may not be related to the team though. Kolkata and Eden Gardens told the KKR team exactly what it thought of John Buchanan's multiple captaincy theory and they are likely to distance themselves further from KKR unless KKR can pull a coup of sorts by blooding a new aspirational talent that all of Bengal can throw their weight behind. It would be a good way to deflect attention if their intention is indeed to drop Ganguly from the ranks of the Shah Rukh Khan owned team.
Ganguly meanwhile has been with the Bengal Ranji team, hoping to win over the selection process and stay in shape. It had also generated controversy in the past with many feeling that Ganguly was using up time and energy that could be better invested in a future Bengal player.
Ganguly must be wondering: is there no pleasing anyone?
