Not so, says ICC chief executive, Haroon Lorgat, even as New Zealand Cricket remain on standby.

The recent threat warnings from the Al Qaeda over sports events in India have cast a shadow of doubt on India being one of the venues for the forthcoming 2011 ICC World Cup. With there being enough question marks over players' participation in the IPL 3, there are questions being raised about whether there will be a shift in venue as Pakistan argued for when they were denied matches for the World Cup.
Pakistan had earlier wanted the Indian sub continent to swap the hosting rights so that Australia and New Zealand would host the 2011 ICC World Cup and the Indian sub continent would host it in the 2015 ICC World Cup. But Lorgat has denied the issues in India were graver than the issues in Pakistan and that did not foresee the same problems.
However, Justin Vaughan, the NZC (New Zealand Cricket) chief has stated that New Zealand would be in readiness as a stand by option in any eventuality. While stating that cricket was important in the sub continent, he did not deny that plans were on if a switch were to indeed happen.
