
Discarded international pacer Zaheer Khan completely wrecked Essex batting line with a nine-wicket haul in the first innings of the County Championship Division Two match in Chelmsford. He is playing for Worcestershire.
The left-hand pacer claimed all the nine wickets of Essex on day two. It is the career best figures for Khan with 65/9 in 21.3 overs. Zaheer just need one more wicket to achieve a distinction of taking all the wickets of a team.
Essex was struggling at 186 for nine in reply to Worcestershire’s mammoth 650/7 in the first innings of four-day match. Varun Chopra is the only batsman who controlled Zaheer to some extent scoring 53.
