Cricket Australia have acceded in principle to BCCI's request a month ago for a Test series and a reduced ODI series for India to retain the no.1 Test status.

CA, like Cricket South Africa in March, have agreed to reduce what would have been only a one day series into a tour for Australia to India that will also involve Tests. BCCI made the request to CA, as they did to CSA, with an eye on India retaining the no.1 Test team tag and is, therefore, seeking participation of other boards.
The dates are yet to be worked upon, however, it appears the series will now eat into the time of the Commonwealth Games although both tournaments are mutually exclusive.
