Cricket and scandals have become serious companions in Australia - yet again a sex charge blemishes it - refreshingly though, it ain't Warnee this time but a cricket official, rather specifically a cricket umpire - I just hope! It isn't the sacked umpire Darrell Hair.
A former international cricket umpire is charged of 12 child sex charges, the accused, who cannot be named under Queensland law will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today. The 55-year old is alleged to have assaulted four complainants on different occasions between 1974 and 1998, a report in 'The Age' quoted the police.
The umpire is suspected of offence against two 14-year old males in 1974 and two 16-year females in 1983 and 1998. In relevance to one boy he is accused with five counts of indecent assault, and with the other for one count. In relation to the females he has been charged with one count each of indecent assault on a female.
He has not only tarnished the name of his country but is also a blot on the name of the game and humanity itself, people like him should be seriously dealt with, disdain.
