Mitchell Johnson ruined what would have been otherwise a great bowling effort from the West Indies in the ICC Champions Trophy at the Wanderers, Johannesburg in South Africa.

Ricky Ponting's seventy-nine runs were, in a sense, a captain's knock. His partnership with Tim Paine was crucial after Australia lost Shane Watson early to Kemar Roach.
But Australia suffered a middle order wobble that saw them reduced to four down for 148 and further to seven down for 171. However, even as the West Indies looked like they had given themselves a real chance to give Australia a run for their money, Johnson wielded the long handle of the bat to good effort and destroyed West Indies hopes of restricting the Australia.
Mitchell Johnson's maiden half century pulverised the West Indies attack even as Gavin Tonge had to briefly leave the field with a shoulder injury. His seventy-three runs from just forty-seven balls that included three tremendous shots for six have meant that West Indies were looking at an awesome total of 275, a huge task for the team that has had very little experience.
