In one of the most dreadful scenarios, South African fast bowler, Dale Steyn, injured himself while taking a catch during the Champions League Twenty20 2010.

Playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore against the Chennai Super Kings in the first CL T20 semi final, Steyn pulled off a magnificent catch to dismiss Michael Hussey.

Unfortunately peddling backwards, the awkwardness of the catch forces Steyn to arch backwards, resulting a nasty fall on the back of the head.

Upon hitting the ground, Steyn did not move, raising grave concerns. He seemed dazed, and then in pain as the RCB support staff gathered around him. They struggled to get him back on his feet and with great difficulty was taken back to the dressing room and thereafter to the hospital. The exact nature of his injury is yet to be officially and positively determined.
