Well, it seems Team India is not the only one to suffer the sledging tactics of aggressive Australians, there is the New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori with the same allegations in his new book “Turning Point”.
But as per him it is none other than the Australian captain Ricky Ponting who is the most overtly aggressive player in the world cricket and he is always itching for a fight.
Monkeygate was bound to happen as some players that is Symo and Ponting were overplaying their importance and as per him Ponting was overstating his position.
The lethal combination of Ponting with Mathew Hayden and of course Symonds the cricket world ends up with the three most aggressive players. As Ponting is in the habit of foul mouthing the opposition there is much bad blood on the field.
Vettori has also come out with his grievance that how Ponting blew out a minor incident during his team’s previous tour Down Under into a major controversy by giving provocative statements to the local media. The incident of Brad Haddin running on the wicket was also defended by Ponting.
It is clear from the above article that team India was not the only one who has suffered due to aggressiveness of Aussies but other teams are now also coming out with same allegations. It seems soon it will be the whole world versus Australian team if they did not mend their ways.
But as usual Ricky Ponting has expressed surprise at Dan’s statement and has said that even the Black Caps are no Angels on the field. The funniest part being that Ponting has accused Dan of trying to sell his book by putting in such incidents. The case of pot calling the kettle black, Ponting?
As both teams go in got the first test in Gabba tomorrow, and each one accusing each other being more aggressive there is a good chance that we will be seeing more fireworks off field than on field
